WhatsApp Access Verification
Privacy Notice
This notice explains how information submitted through the AMST WhatsApp Access Verification process is used.
Information collected
Name, employment or company details, work contact details, registered WhatsApp number, relevant operational group, role, DC/region, requested and approved access levels, authorisation and validation records, lifecycle status, review dates and access-administration history.
Purpose of processing
The information is used for identity verification, regional routing and authorisation, operational access control, security, audit, support administration, periodic review and the suspension or revocation of access.
Who may receive the information
Access is limited to authorised Shoprite/Transrite representatives, designated AMST validators and administrators, and other authorised personnel who require it for governance, audit or security purposes.
Retention and accuracy
Records are retained only for the period required by the approved organisational retention policy, legal obligations and access-control audit requirements. Applicants may request correction of inaccurate information through their authorised regional representative or AMST management contact.
WhatsApp visibility
WhatsApp is a separate third-party service. Group participation may make account information, including a participant’s name, telephone number and profile information, visible to other participants subject to the participant’s settings and WhatsApp’s policies.
Read WhatsApp’s Privacy PolicyAccess controls
Submission does not guarantee access. Shoprite/Transrite determines the authorised operational access level for its employees and approved partners. AMST personnel follow the authorised AMST process. AMST then validates the business authorisation, administers the WhatsApp groups and enforces approved access. Access may be suspended, revoked or allowed to expire when the underlying authority is invalid, no longer required or has been misused.
Authoritative register
WhatsApp remains an operational communication platform and is not the source of authority. The controlled authorised-user register records the approved access level, registered number, unlock authority, authoriser, validator, relevant dates and current lifecycle status.
